Card in a Box

card in a box opened
outside folded flat
Wow I checked out Stamp & Scrap with Frenchie and knew that my Hostess Club would be making one of our own tonight. Check out her video and see how easy this really is.
The cardstock cuts I did:
Colonial White Cardstock- 9x5 1/2, Score the long side @ 2 1/8, 4 1/4, 6 3/8, 8 1/2. Then turn and score the short side @ 2 3/4 thereby dividing it in half. Cut to the halfway fold on the score lines on the top half of the paper. The end score, at 8 1/2 inches is then cut across at the halfway fold leaving a small tab on the bottom half. Fold at score lines, apply a strong adhesive to tab and form into a box.
Laughing Lola paper cut 5 1/2 x 2 1/8, and stamped white cardstock 5 x 1 3/4 inches. This is used on the outside back panel of box, not seen when box is opened.
Flap pieces cut from Laughing Lola @ 2x 2 3/4 inches.
Center Divider is Colonial White cardstock cut 3 1/8x 3 1/8, scored @ 1/2, and 2 5/8. Then turn sideways and cut in half. Fold at the score lines, one forward, one back like a Z. Apply adhesive to the Z flaps with so that the adhesive on the front on one side, the back of the other.( Or lay flat and apply adhesive to one flap while up, then turn over and apply to other flap while up.) To apply to inside of box, align Z tab with back of box in corner and top of tab even with top of box, or one side. Make sure the other tab is open and close the box flat. Press and when you open you will see that the other tab is exactly where it needs to be. Repeat for other divider.  This is really easy if you watch Frenchie's video.
Now you are ready to decorate. I used lots of stamp sets that I cut with my Cricut Cartrides. I'll try and list them for you.

3 more Skylark cards

Here are 3 more Skylark cards from the scraps I had left over from the first cuts on my 12x12 piece of paper.  I added some Timberlake, flipped the Skylark over, added some embossing from my cuttlebug stash of folders and use another strip of the Chervons. So I was able to easily create 7 standard size cards from one sheet of this super cute paper. I've left the sentiments off till a later date on a couple of these, since they lend themselves to so many occasions. Oh and don't tell my hubby, but that's his Valentine Card.

Sneak Preview Skylark Paper

Wow, I just love this paper. I couldn't wait to cut into it and was amazed at how easy it was to put these four cards together with just one sheet of paper. I also have some scraps to make another couple of cards, but hubby wanted his dinner last night, so I had to stop playing. The best part is all the collage work is already printed on the paper. The card in the bottom right had nothing added except for that terrific paper strip of chevrons that comes on the top of the 12x12 paper. Yep the paper is printed just like that. For the bottom left, I ran the paper thru much my cuttlebug, added a paper strip and stamped the sentiment, distressed the edge in chocolate and mounted on white card, couldn't be easier. Above left, added the chevron strip and stamped bird image and sentiment from Fabulous You stamp set C1533. For the one top right, used a desert sand marker in spots on bird, stamped a small
flourish,
added the chevron strip and stamped sentiment. All 4 cards done in a matter of minutes and with one sheet of Skylark.  You are going to love the others papers too. New catalog available Feb. 1, 2014. To view it go to my website www.ctmh.com/janeo click on the link on the middle right that says join one of Jane's gatherings (Shannon's) to shop all the newest products. I'll be showing more of them. This gathering closes on the 2nd so everyone can get their newest products as soon as possible. Your items will ship to your home, no waiting for everyone else, no waiting on delivery. I'll expect a slightly longer shipping time due to the volume that will be hitting all at the beginning of a new catalog.
